Mr. Steve Sanghi, CEO of Microchip Technology Inc., is the best boss (CEO) I have ever known. He communicates as much information as possible at quarterly communications meetings. He tells it like he sees it even if it contradicts what others believe. He does not say things just because that is what others want to hear.
His success runnning Microchip is a great story for an AMERICAN company in the semiconductor business. Even though he is CEO of a $1+ billion dollar company, he still replies to questions or concerns of indivdual employees. He could have easily retired to the good life but he sees this company as a direct reflection of him. Therefore, he does everything he can to make it the best company in its business and a great place to work.
He also finds time to write a business column for the Arizona Republic and being very supportive of the FIRST Robotics competition for high school students. During the Great Recession, he pledged to not lay off anyone and he lived up to his word. Around 9/11, he showed his patriotism and spirit by allowing employees to express their thoughts and feelings in almost any way. He does all of this with a considerable amount of modesty! Not only is Steve a great boss, he is a great person.
