Be sure to read all the score ranges below to gain maximum learning from this exercise.
This particular assessment is a tricky one since the best scores are in the middle. None of the statements should necessarily be always or never. In this case the extremes scores are where you may find the most difficulty. Often extremes of conflict or lack of it can signal problems. Read on to find out why.

If you got 15 - 20: You may not be very involved with your team. You would benefit from being a bit more social with them from time to time. There seems to be very few challenges to you or questioning of the status quo. In a dynamic, growing and winning environment challenges are healthy and generally accompany the creative process. Find someone who will give you some candid impressions of life on your team and see if you can discover ways to breathe life and openness into this team.

20-34: This score may signify more of the above or could be due to situational constraints where there is very little opportunity to be social, interactive or creative. You may want to explore whether this is really the case or not. Talk with your boss and a trusted employee to see if work on your team has become stuck in "the way it has always been done."

35-49: This score is in the ideal range. You have a lively team with some conflict and challenge. Be sure that this is the healthy kind however. Unresolved conflict on a team can be devastating over time. It is best to settle disputes quickly and privately but not discourage disagreement as this opens up team thinking to new possibilities. You also seem to have good boundaries and give employees room to express themselves and spent time without you. Teams need to have breathing time and down time. Members grow from stretching and working through some problems by themselves. You probably scored high on the statements about team performance. Congratulations!

50-6: This score may still be well within the range of healthy and successful and the higher numbers may be a result of the fact that your team has been together for a long time or working on a project that they have done before. They may be very compatible and could be handpicked by you and therefore very allied with you. Just be sure that there is enough going on to keep your team members growing and learning. Everyone moves on someday, make sure your people are ready to accept any new career challenge that they desire in their future. Although there is much to be said for harmony, overtime you will have to change and try new things to stay ahead of your competition.

65-75: No team setting is perfect all the time or without challenges. If your team is always extremely well behaved, you may have a case of problems brewing under the surface. There are some disagreements occasionally on any team and if people are developing and growing there should be some turnover as well. This score could signal some control issues and some fear of crossing the boss. You may need to talk to someone on your team who you suspect may be less than perfectly happy to get any kind of useful and candid feedback. You could also be so popular that they hesitate to cause you difficulty but again new ideas are by definition a disagreement with the status quo. Look to stir up some action on this team.
