Camerson Park Printing Company. This is s small printing company in a medium sized suburb of a large city. Many merchants in town use Camerson because they like the proximity and doing business with other local merchants. Camerson does about $2 million in sales per year.

Arthur Masters. He is married with no children. He has been at Camerson for almost 10 years. He is good at hiring capable and dedicated workers. The owners of Camerson are now elderly and live out of town so at this point Art really does not have a boss himself. He runs the operation fairly well but they have had no growth for over 3 years and he steadfastly sticks to old ways of doing things.

Sarah is the office manager at Camerson and has been with them for 5 years. She had come back to work after taking several years off to raise her children. She had a slow start when she first came to Camerson as her son, Martin, was often in trouble at school and she had to spend a lot of time keeping track of her teenager. Martin is now in college and doing well. At this point, Sarah is putting all her attention and best efforts into her job. She began two years ago to take classes in business at the local college. The problem is that Art just can’t forget how Sarah started out on the job. He watches her closely and rarely takes any of her suggestions to heart. Recently, she worked with a customer who had a very large print job lined up. Sarah found several ways to meet the customer’s needs which were not customarily the way Camerson operated. Art flatly refused to make any changes and the customer went to a larger printer who would. The worst part for Sarah is that the big city printer agreed to all of her innovations and the customer loved the finished product. She is sure the local company will now be loyal to the big city printer. What can Sarah do?
