The Greatest Boss Contest Rules
How To Enter:
To enter, submit a brief description (approximately 500 words; technically no more than 3500 characters) describing "The Greatest Boss" by completing our online entry form.
- Please submit true stories only and be sure to include the special qualities of your boss, specific incidents that demonstrated these and how they impacted your life and/or the organization.
- Entries must include the nominee’s AND the nominator’s name, address, telephone number and email address.
- Contest entry is free.
- Please keep a copy of your submission as it will become the property of the contest sponsors and will not be returned.
- IBossWell staff are ineligible
The deadline for submission is midnight US-EDT September 30, 2011.
The three winners and runners-up will be announced in time for National Boss's Day, October 15, 2011.
How Winners Will Be Selected:
Winners will be selected based on the nominator's description of how well the leader displays and "lives" the following qualities of great leadership:
- Leads with a compelling vision, makes a plan, and inspires their teams to transform that plan into success;
- Supports employees to achieve their best and to grow personally and professionally;
- Teaches for the future by sharing knowledge, skills and insights that ultimately shape an employee's worldview, or positively impacts the outlook of their organization.
Judging
Judging will be done by a panel including:
- Leigh Branham, Founder/Principal of Keeping the People, Inc.;
- Dr. Margaret Reid, Chair, Department of Political Science, University of Arkansas; and
- Denise McNerney, President and CEO of iBossWell, Inc..
Awards and Publicity
Winning bosses will be profiled in contest publicity, in future publications on great bossing, and on the iBossWell, Inc. website. Additionally they will receive a Greatest Boss plaque and a gift basket from Mano's Corporate Gifts.
Ownership
In order that the sponsors may effectively use all entries for the purpose of promoting humane leadership as widely as possible, they will retain perpetual, non-exclusive rights to use any of the submitted essays in any future publication, promotional material and/or online service, with no compensation other than credit to the author. The sponsors reserve the right to free reproduction and exhibition of all submitted entries.
